Welcome Message

KU President Jaeho Yeom

Greetings. Thank you for considering the Korea University Life and Environment AMP.

Humanity in our time faces new threats posed by environmental changes due to natural disasters and industrialization. These issues are shared by all humanity, and they cannot be solved by a single region or nation.

At the center of the problem-solving process lies life sciences and environmental engineering. Humanity can promote healthy living through exploring the life sciences, and the development of environmental science can help manage a sustainable health for our Earth. At the same time, such processes should be aligned with modern civilization and changes in the trade and policies of each country.

Under these circumstances, the Graduate School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology has operated the AMP for the past 20 years. The program is known for its prominent faculty members and diverse curriculum, and those who finish this program are recognized as KU alumni who respect life and love the environment in every corner of our society.

We hope that our program will inspire you to continue to seek learning about life and the environment. Thank you.

Prof. Ick Young Kim

The Graduate School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology was founded in 1977 to foster global leaders with expertise in the bioindustry and environmental engineering. We established the short-term Life & Environment Advanced Management Program (AMP) in 1991 under the auspices of the graduate school in order to meet the demands for experts who can resolve the food and environmental issues caused by rapid industrialization and urbanization and can promote sustainable development.

This program consists of essential, specialized training for leaders in the bio-industry and environment area from every corner of our society. Full-time professors and experts from the public and business communities deliver lectures to nurture experts with practical knowledge. All training programs are conducted in top-notch lecture rooms to maximize their effect.

More than 1,700 students have finished our program, and they are serving as pillars in related areas. Furthermore, the close relationships built through the program will be a valuable asset for your social activities.

KU Life and Environment AMP will continue its efforts to produce leaders essential for the sustainable development of our society. We hope that you will choose to acquire the knowledge to design a better future with this program. We look forward to have more people aspiring to contribute to the sustainable development of our nation as experts in the bioindustry and environmental fields.
